A little history about the woman on my FCC call sign page

Dietz Dolls was started because of the lack of photographers shooting true historical style pinups.Thruout World War 2 our Brave Troops would put their favorite pinup ladies on their Bombers and other equipment. The boys of the mighty 8th (USA AAF 8TH AIR FORCE ) personalized their planes preferring a curvacious to a female identifacation number . This soon became known as Nose Art.Nose art featured the likes of Rita Hayworth and Betty Grable. One B 17 bomber Super Fortress flew 24 missions from Bassingbourn in Cambridgeshire. Officialy it oly had a number but to every American she was SHOO SHOO SHOO BABY ,a topless blonde with a cheeky grin namd after the Andrews Sisters hit. But most were fantasy women the fighter pilots used and would pat their bottoms for luck to return home alive . The art boosted the spirits of men separated from home, marooned in alien England where the Beer was warm and the natives standoffish .The most prolific artist was Don Allen who came over with 334th squadron of the 4th fighter group . He was based in Debden in Essex and became the 8th Air Force"s equivalent of Rembrandt . Today these pinup girls are found everywhere from Hollwood to Esquire magazine etc. Do you remember MEMPHIS BELLE ? Does anyone know who she really was ? ( her name was Margaret Polk) Remember the crew were young. Most of these boys would never return. What else would our young boys have to take with them except for their favorite ladies . God Bless to all our brave boys whom have so dutifully laid down their lives for our Freedoms that today are being trampled on by political Socialist Leftist Politicians .

Today.
